Books
For When I’m Gone
My debut novel, published in 2020, and described as ‘wonderfully assured’ by The Times. It’s about Sylvia who is dying of breast cancer and writes a manual for her husband Paul. It’s a sad premise but I hope it’s not a mawkish book. I wanted to write about love, legacy and the precious everyday.
The Trip
My second novel was published in 2023. It’s more of a thriller than For When I’m Gone, and is about a group of fortysomething friends who hire a Moroccan riad for a weekend. Income disparity, long-term relationships, the ceding of youth - it’s all here, set in the sultry heat of rooftop gardens in Marrakesh and Sydney.
Hope Not Fear
As well as writing novels, I also ghostwrite books for other people. Hope Not Fear tells Hassan’s remarkable story: incarceration under the Syrian regime, a dangerous journey to Europe and his eventual arrival in the UK. Humane and compelling, it’s truly a tale for our times.
